Tagaytay Courtesy of St. Luke's

I've written a few articles on Tagaytay. Sometimes I think I've repeated some facts. I was there again today to guide for an esteemed guest of St. Luke's Hospital. The guest was Ms Sharon, who happens to be the wife of a guest speaker invited for a convention organized by the hosting party.

I met St. Luke's representative Lance Carlos and Ms Sharon at the lobby of Manila Pen and we motored to Tagaytay at 9 a.m. Along the way I gave my commentaries and the guest was such an enthusiastic listener and we started a thread of conversation that lasted all the way to Taal Vista Lodge which was the first stop for Ms Sharon to view Taal Volcano.

Ms. Sharon is a naturalized US citizen. She was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. Educated in the US, she met her husband who is a cancer specialist. So at the time of the tour, her husband was giving a talk at the convention. We talked about so much stuff, we found so many parallelisms between Filipino and Trinidad cultures. If anything, Ms Sharon understands island life.

We then went to Caleruega in Nasugbu. The place was so spiritual and serene...it led to discussing another topic - the Catholic Religion. She's Presbyterian. We're Roman Catholic. Presbyterian is scripture based. Catholicism is well... dogmatic (to say the least). Plenty of talk points there!

Lunch was at Antonio's. The uppity resto has it's decor down pat... The meals were superb as well.  Salad was tossed green with cranberry vinaigrette followed by tomato soup. I had the seafood sampler that had shrimp in puff pastry, scallops on creamy mashed potatoes and Chilean sea bass on a bed of diced potatoes. Dessert was cinamon spiced pineapple with virgin coconut oil ice cream. I ate every morsel. Sharon had the same salad and soup of the day, then she had Chilean sea bass with a glass of wine, and poached pear in red wine for dessert. Lance's entree was the steak fillet ala plancha and spicy chocolate discs with peppermint and ice cream. Coffee was the perfect end to a long lunch.

Next we went to Sonia's Garden. We meandered through the lush pathways and ended up near the spa. I was pleasantly surprised when Lance informed Sharon that she was in for a massage and that Lance and I were going to have one too. I could only oblige...it would have been rude to turn down the host...=)

We then left Tagaytay at nearly five p.m. and got caught up in some bottlenecks along Sta. Rosa and Ayala. I bid Lance and Ms Sharon  a goodevening as they had a dinner reception and thanks my host and guest profoundly.
